The participating pools include Francis Pool in West End, Langdon Park Pool in Northeast, Ridge Road Pool in Southeast, and Upshur Pool in Northwest. Dog owners are encouraged to register their furry friends in advance, as admission is free but requires prior registration for both dogs and their handlers. To enter the pool, dogs must have a valid DC Health-issued dog license and tag. Owners needing to obtain a license should prepare the necessary documentation, such as proof of current rabies and distemper vaccinations, as well as proof of spaying or neutering, prior to the event.
Event safety is a top priority, and attendees should be aware of several rules. All dogs must wear their DC license while on-site, and handlers must be at least 16 years old. Importantly, handlers are not permitted to enter the pool with their dogs, ensuring a safe environment for all participants. Additionally, dogs must be sociable and remain leashed while on the deck. Ensuring that dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered is also a requirement for entry.
