Jury Finds Two Brothers Guilty of July 2020 Murder and Robbery Conspiracy

Dijon Williams, 27, and Daivion Williams, 28, were found guilty of first-degree murder while armed, conspiracy, and attempted robbery in connection with the July 2020 killing of 30-year-old Nurudeen Thomas, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. The jury in D.C. Superior Court reached the verdict today, with sentencing scheduled for January 22, 2027.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro stated that the brothers traveled from Georgia to Washington, D.C., with the intent to rob their drug supplier. The robbery culminated in the fatal shooting of Thomas on July 21, 2020, as the brothers allegedly attempted to steal a large quantity of drugs. After the incident, they fled back to Georgia.

The evidence presented during the trial indicated that Dijon Williams, a former Georgetown University football player, conspired with his brother to carry out the crime. The shooting occurred in the 4100 block of 14th Street, Northwest, shortly after the brothers arrived in the city.

The investigation was conducted by the Metropolitan Police Department, with the case prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Yasmin Emrani and Daniel Bromwich. AUSA Rachel Forman was responsible for investigating and indicting the cases.
