The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is actively investigating a homicide that took place early Saturday morning in Northeast Washington, D.C. The incident occurred in the 5100 block of Sheriff Road, prompting a swift response from Sixth District officers at approximately 1:22 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male who was unconscious and not breathing, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Earl Levi Pinkney Jr., a resident of Capitol Heights, Maryland.
In light of the ongoing investigation, the MPD is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. The MPD is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for homicides in the District of Columbia.
