WASHINGTON – Antoine Jones, a 24-year-old resident of the District of Columbia, was sentenced to 114 months in prison for his role in the armed kidnapping of a 14-year-old girl. The sentencing took place today in the U.S. District Court, as announced by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.
During the proceedings, U.S. Attorney Pirro described the incident as particularly heinous, stating, “Antoine Jones held a gun to the face of a 14-year-old girl, drove her across the city, and delivered her to a man he knew would continue terrorizing her.” She emphasized the cruelty of targeting a child with a firearm and reaffirmed her office’s commitment to pursuing harsh penalties against those who prey on the youth of Washington, D.C.
Jones pleaded guilty to one count of kidnapping while armed before Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly. In addition to his prison sentence, Judge Kollar-Kotelly mandated Jones to serve five years of supervised release upon his release from prison.
The kidnapping occurred on September 26, 2024, in Northwest D.C. Jones and another man, Keishawn Johnson, were involved in a scheme that targeted the victim while she was on a sidewalk in the 1300 block of Longfellow Street NW. Johnson brandished a firearm, demanding information from the victim regarding a missing gun, and was soon joined by Jones, who further threatened the girl. The situation escalated as the two men forced her into Jones’s vehicle and drove her to Johnson’s residence in Southeast D.C., continuing the search for the firearm against her will.
Jones had a history of prior criminal convictions and was on probation during the time of the kidnapping. The case was investigated by the FBI Washington Field Office in conjunction with the Metropolitan Police Department, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Caroline Burrell.
