The Metropolitan Police Department has announced the arrest of a juvenile male in connection with a shooting that occurred in Northwest Washington. The incident took place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, around 1:00 p.m., when the suspect approached the victim in the 2700 block of 14th Street, Northwest, produced a firearm, and shot the victim before fleeing the scene. The victim was subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

On Thursday, October 1, 2026, a 15-year-old male from Northeast Washington was arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Kill (Gun). The police are actively seeking assistance from the public to identify four persons of interest who were captured on surveillance cameras during the incident. Images of these individuals have been released by the department.

Authorities encourage anyone who recognizes the persons of interest or has information about the shooting to contact the Metropolitan Police Department. Individuals are advised not to approach the suspects but to call the police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of those responsible for the crime.
