The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating a homicide that occurred early Monday morning on Pennsylvania Avenue in Southeast Washington, D.C. Officers from the Sixth District responded to reports of an individual down in the 2500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital; however, despite extensive lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Turray Simms, a resident of Northeast D.C.

In an effort to solicit public assistance, the MPD is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for homicides in the District.
