The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has announced the arrests of two suspects in connection with an armed robbery that took place in Southeast Washington, D.C. The incident occurred on Friday, July 10th, 2026, at approximately 9:15 p.m. in the 3000 block of Stanton Road. According to police reports, the suspects confronted the victims while brandishing firearms and demanded money. They successfully took money from one of the victims before being apprehended by responding officers on the scene.

Arrested were 22-year-old Jonathan Johnson of Northeast D.C. and 24-year-old Laron Plowden of Southeast D.C. Both individuals have been charged with Armed Robbery (Gun). Additionally, Plowden faces further charges related to a previous armed robbery that occurred on July 3rd, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m. in the 1200 block of 7th Street, Northwest. In that incident, Plowden and an accomplice allegedly entered a residence, threatened the victim with firearms, and stole money and property before fleeing the scene.

The MPD is continuing its investigation into these incidents and encourages anyone with information to come forward. The MPD is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of individuals responsible for violent crimes in the District of Columbia.
