The Metropolitan Police Department is requesting assistance from the public in identifying a suspect involved in an assault with a dangerous weapon that took place in Southwest Washington, DC. The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 17, 2026, at approximately 6:00 a.m. inside a residence in the 1800 block of Half Street.

According to MPD, the incident began as a verbal argument between the suspect and the victim. During the altercation, the suspect reportedly assaulted the victim with a wooden cane before fleeing the scene. Surveillance footage captured an image of the suspect, which authorities are hoping will help identify the individual.
