The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is seeking assistance from the community to identify a suspect involved in a burglary that occurred in Northwest Washington, D.C. The incident took place early in the morning on August 18, 2026, in the 600 block of E Street NW.
According to MPD, officers from the First District responded to reports of the burglary at approximately 9:16 a.m. It was reported that the suspect forcibly entered the establishment by destroying the front door shortly after 2:00 a.m. Once inside, the suspect took property before fleeing the scene.
Surveillance footage captured the suspect during the incident, and MPD has released the video to aid in the investigation. Community members are encouraged to view the footage to help identify the individual involved. The video can be accessed through the MPD’s official channels.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect or the circumstances surrounding the burglary to contact the police. Residents can call the MPD at (202) 727-9099 or send a tip via text to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. Moreover, a reward of up to $1,000 is available for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the individual responsible for this crime.
