The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is currently investigating a homicide that took place in the Southwest quadrant of Washington, DC. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at approximately 9:38 p.m., when a First District officer was alerted to a man down in the 100 block of M Street, Southwest.
Upon arrival, the officer discovered an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the median.
