The DC Metropolitan Police Department has issued a traffic advisory in anticipation of the upcoming Fiesta DC Festival, scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, and Sunday, September 27, 2026. Residents and visitors should prepare for significant parking restrictions and street closures throughout the event weekend.
From 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, several streets will be designated as Emergency No Parking zones. These streets include Pennsylvania Avenue from 3rd Street to 7th Street NW, 4th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue to Madison Drive NW, and Constitution Avenue from 3rd Street to 7th Street NW, among others. Vehicles parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.
In addition to the parking restrictions, the same timeframe will see closures of key streets to emergency vehicles. This includes areas such as Pennsylvania Avenue and 4th Street, limiting access for first responders. Additionally, on both days, streets may be intermittently closed to vehicle traffic for public safety, particularly along 7th Street from E Street to Constitution Avenue NW and Pennsylvania Avenue from 9th Street to 7th Street NW.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and may want to consider alternative routes during the festival. With anticipated increased pedestrian traffic, the Metropolitan Police Department urges drivers in the vicinity to exercise caution.
