Street closures are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 6:30 a.m., with 12th Street from E Street to Constitution Avenue being entirely closed to vehicle traffic. The closures will continue through Friday, September 25, 2026, at 5 p.m., affecting multiple thoroughfares including Pennsylvania Avenue and the 12th Street Tunnel/Expressway.
On Thursday, September 24, 2026, further closures will be implemented from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., impacting Constitution Avenue from 14th to 18th Streets and 15th Street from Independence Avenue to H Street. Residents and visitors are advised to plan their travel routes accordingly to avoid delays during this event.
