Sequan Collier, a 29-year-old man with a history of felony convictions, has been sentenced to 29 months in federal prison for unlawfully possessing a loaded Glock pistol. The sentencing took place in U.S. District Court, as announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.
Collier pleaded guilty to the charge on June 29, after being found with the firearm while on supervised release for a previous firearms offense. In addition to the prison term, they will serve three years of supervised release upon completion of their sentence.
According to court documents, the incident occurred early on March 16, 2025, when officers with the Metropolitan Police Department discovered Collier parked illegally in a black Audi A6 in the Logan Circle neighborhood, accompanied by two armed men. After exiting the vehicle, officers found a Glock Model 29, 10mm handgun, loaded with 15 rounds, hidden in Collier’s waistband.
At the time of the arrest, Collier was already on supervised release following a prior conviction for a similar firearms offense involving another loaded Glock. Despite having served 22 months in prison for that earlier conviction, Collier reoffended just six weeks after their release. As a convicted felon, they were prohibited from possessing any firearms.
The case was investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kate Naseef under an initiative aimed at addressing violent crime in the District by prioritizing the prosecution of armed repeat offenders and removing illegal firearms from local neighborhoods.
