Antonio Terry, an 18-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., was arrested on October 25, 2026, and charged with first-degree murder while armed in connection with the shooting deaths of two youths, ages 12 and 14, that took place on April 14, 2026. The announcement was made by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.
During a court hearing, Judge Heide Hermann found probable cause for the charges against Terry and ordered that they be held without bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 9, 2026.
According to court documents, the incident occurred around 3:27 p.m. on April 14 when a stolen black Honda Accord approached the Circle 7 Express store on Kenilworth Avenue, Northeast. Three masked individuals exited the vehicle and opened fire on people in the parking lot before fleeing the scene. Tragically, the gunfire resulted in the deaths of the two young victims.
The investigation is being conducted by the Metropolitan Police Department, with prosecution led by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Christopher Carson and Yasmin Emrani. The U.S. Attorney’s Office emphasized that the charges are merely allegations, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
