WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 43-year-old man from the District of Columbia, Hershel Andrew Green, III, pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court for distributing child pornography. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro announced the plea, emphasizing the serious implications of child sexual abuse material and the commitment of law enforcement to hold offenders accountable.
“Let me be clear: if you seek out, receive, or distribute child sexual abuse material, we will find you, we will prosecute you, and we will hold you accountable,” said U.S. Attorney Pirro. She highlighted the grim reality that every image represents a real child who has been victimized and reiterated the determination of federal law enforcement to pursue those who prey on children.
Green, also known by the online alias “FitddyG,” pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of child pornography before U.S. District Judge Loren L. AliKhan. This charge carries a statutory penalty ranging from five to twenty years in prison. Sentencing has been scheduled for November 30, 2026.
According to court documents, the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force identified Green during an investigation into another individual’s distribution of child sexual abuse material. In July 2025, an undercover FBI agent exchanged messages with Green, receiving several videos of child sexual abuse material. Law enforcement subsequently identified Green through digital records, open-source research, and surveillance conducted at his residence in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The initiative aims to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
