WASHINGTON, D.C. – A Largo, Maryland man was sentenced to nine years in federal prison on Tuesday for his involvement in the transportation of child pornography. Marshall Day, 40, received a sentence of 108 months in U.S. District Court, as announced by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro. In addition to his prison term, Judge Jia M. Cobb imposed a 10-year supervised release period and mandated that Day register as a sex offender upon his release.
Day, who used the online aliases “KingDaddy89” and “Mike LeRoy,” pleaded guilty on March 12, 2026, to one count of transportation of child pornography. The case stemmed from an investigation by the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, which uncovered Day’s possession of six videos depicting child sexual abuse on his cell phone. These videos were downloaded just days prior to his arrest.
The investigation revealed that on October 8, 2025, Day engaged in online communications through a fetish website, where he discussed sexual interests and arranged to meet a person who claimed to have a nine-year-old daughter. Day traveled to the Chinatown neighborhood in Northwest D.C. for this meeting, where he was arrested by law enforcement. During his arrest, authorities discovered the incriminating material on his phone, which he acknowledged had no legal justification for possession.
This case is part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative, aimed at protecting children from online exploitation and abuse. Since its inception in February 2006, the initiative has worked to marshal resources across federal, state, and local levels to address the growing threat of child exploitation on the internet.
