Mayor Muriel Bowser is set to unveil the District’s master plan for the redevelopment of the RFK campus on Thursday, September 24 at 11 a.m. This initiative aims to transform the campus into a vibrant hub for housing, parks, recreation, and entertainment, ensuring that it remains active not only on game days but every day of the year.
The development process included extensive community engagement, with the Office of the Mayor reporting that nearly 1,800 residents contributed their thoughts on the future of the RFK site. Over a span of 18 months, the Office of Planning and its partners conducted more than 30 events to gather input from various stakeholders in the community.
The plan will be formally submitted to the Council on the same day as its public release. The event will take place at The Fields at RFK, specifically at the Celebration Pavilion located at 401 Oklahoma Avenue NE, with the nearest Metro station being Stadium-Armory.
