Three Juveniles Arrested by Make DC Safe and Beautiful Task Force for Armed Robbery

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Three juveniles have been arrested and charged as adults in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on July 6, 2026, in the 3300 block of 7th Street Southeast. The suspects, Onyx Austin, 17, Pierce Arrington, 17, and Reggie Mateck, 16, were apprehended by the Metropolitan Police Department and are facing serious charges in D.C. Superior Court, as announced by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.

The arrests were made following an incident where the suspects allegedly assaulted two victims. Reports indicate that one suspect placed the victims in chokeholds, while another threatened them with a handgun, demanding valuables. The suspects stole a wallet, multiple cell phones, and accessed one victim’s bank account, withdrawing approximately $1,700. Authorities located the suspects at a residence belonging to one of their mothers shortly after the robbery.

U.S. Attorney Pirro emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring accountability for juvenile offenders, stating, “There will be zero tolerance for those committing crimes in D.C., especially juveniles.” She criticized the D.C. Council for failing to recognize the violence perpetrated by young offenders, affirming that the rights of victims must remain a priority. This case is being prosecuted under the Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful initiative, aimed at combating gun violence and implementing stricter penalties for firearms violations.

Interim Chief Jeffery Carroll of the Metropolitan Police Department and U.S. Marshal Robert Anthony Dixon joined U.S. Attorney Pirro in the announcement, underscoring the collaborative efforts of local and federal law enforcement in tackling crime in the District. The investigation remains ongoing, with the case being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Campbell.

As the legal proceedings unfold, it is important to remember that charges in a complaint are merely allegations, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
