The incident took place around 3:45 p.m. in the 700 block of Southern Avenue, where officers from the Seventh District were alerted to a person down in the area.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male who was unconscious and not breathing, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS were called to the scene, but unfortunately, they pronounced the victim dead after finding no signs of life. The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old Reginald Lamont Dorsey from Waldorf, Maryland.
