(Washington, DC) – The Office of the Mayor of Washington, DC has announced the commencement of the 2027 Open Enrollment period for health insurance, beginning this Sunday, November 1. Residents are urged to enroll in high-quality health insurance plans through DCHealthLink.com, the District’s official online marketplace for health coverage.
Mayor Muriel Bowser emphasized the importance of securing health insurance, stating, “Act now to get covered. If you’re not sure what you need to do, reach out to our teams for help.” The enrollment period will provide access to 24 private health insurance plans and the Healthy DC Plan, which is designed for residents with incomes up to two times the federal poverty level. The Healthy DC Plan will include vision and dental benefits for the upcoming year, and all plans cover essential services such as doctor visits, hospital stays, mental health care, and preventive care.
The Open Enrollment period will last until January 31, 2027. Residents can utilize various online tools, including Plan Match and a Health Savings Account (HSA) calculator, to help them select the best plan for their needs. Plan Match allows users to anonymously compare different plans and discover potential savings on premiums.
Residents have multiple options for enrollment assistance. They can sign up online at DCHealthLink.com, call 855-532-LINK (5465), or seek help from certified Assisters and licensed health insurance brokers. For those who prefer in-person support, enrollment centers are available, and virtual appointments can also be scheduled through the One Touch Virtual Enrollment service, which offers support in multiple languages.
DC Health Link, which has been in operation since 2013, has significantly reduced the uninsured rate in the District, with approximately 96% of residents now having health coverage. This open enrollment period presents an opportunity for residents to secure their health insurance and ensure access to necessary medical care.
