The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has announced the arrest of four male juveniles in connection with a series of burglaries and vehicle thefts in Northeast D.C. The arrests were made on October 5, 2026, following an investigation that linked the suspects to multiple incidents occurring between September 5 and October 2, 2026.
During this period, detectives identified eight residential burglaries in the Northeast quadrant, with four occurring at unoccupied homes and another four at occupied residences. Notably, in the occupied burglaries, some suspects were reportedly armed with firearms. Stolen items included car keys, which facilitated the theft of four vehicles, all of which have since been recovered. In one instance, a suspect armed with a firearm allegedly attempted to engage in a forced sexual act with a victim.
The juveniles face numerous charges, including burglary, theft, unlawful entry, and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse. Specific incidents attributed to the suspects include burglaries on September 5, September 18, and October 2, with various degrees of severity. The charges reflect the serious nature of the offenses, particularly the assault charge linked to one of the burglaries.
As investigations continue, the MPD is working to ensure the safety of residents in the area. The department encourages anyone with additional information related to these incidents to come forward as they seek to address the recent surge in criminal activity in Northeast D.C.
