Isaiah Pushia-Keith, a 26-year-old man with a prior felony conviction, has pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition in U.S. District Court, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. The guilty plea was entered before Judge Reggie B. Walton, who has scheduled sentencing for March 17, 2027.
The charges stem from an incident on May 10, 2025, when Metropolitan Police officers responded to a report of an assault near 214 Jefferson Street NW. A woman informed officers that Pushia-Keith had assaulted her and left her phone at the scene. Utilizing a tracking application, the woman led police to a Safeway located at 3830 Georgia Avenue NW, where Pushia-Keith was found and detained.
During the encounter, Pushia-Keith acknowledged having the woman’s phone and was found to be in possession of a ghost gun-an unregistered firearm without a serial number-stored in a black cross-body satchel. Officers discovered the weapon along with a loaded 12-round magazine containing six live rounds. This incident marked a significant breach of the law, as Pushia-Keith’s previous felony conviction from 2024 in Alexandria, Virginia, prohibits him from legally possessing any firearm.
The Metropolitan Police Department conducted the investigation, and the case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Travis Wolf and Charles Klug. The community remains alert as law enforcement continues to address issues of illegal firearms and public safety.
